About the temple
One of the seven sacred Mukti Kshetras of Coastal Karnataka; situated atop the gentle hillock "Anegudde" (Elephant Hill); legend records Bheema used a sword blessed by Ganesha to slay demon Kumbhasura here, giving the town its name Kumbhashi. Traditional belief: Instant removal of obstacles, grant of boons (Siddhi Vinayaka), success in examinations, business prosperity, and relief from distress.
