The 57th Paadal Petra Sthalam of Thondai Nadu; where the four Vedas themselves stand transformed into a sacred hill (Veda-Giri); universally famous for the legend of the two sacred eagles (Pakshis) that arrived daily at noon to be fed sweet rice by the temple priest; rock-cut cave excavated by Pallava King Mahendravarman I. Traditional belief: Absolution from severe curses (Pitru/Brahmahatya Dosha), grant of supreme spiritual knowledge (Veda Jnana), cure of chronic illnesses, and liberation.
