The holy hilltop shrine celebrated as "Siragiri"; hallowed literary site where Saint Devaraya Swamigal premiered (Arangetram) the world-famous protective hymn "Kanda Sashti Kavacham"; famous for the twin-bullock chariot ascent (Kaalai Therottam) where a pair of unguided bulls pulls the temple cart up 1,320 stone steps without human intervention. Traditional belief: Absolute protection from evil spirits, planetary curses, incurable bodily illnesses, and grant of righteous progeny.
