The foremost Murugan hill temple in Karur; situated atop a scenic 100-foot granite hillock known as "Vennaimalai" (Butter Hill); mythological site where the celestial wish-yielding cow Kamadhenu performed penance to Lord Murugan and poured milk creating a butter mountain; praised by Saint Arunagirinathar in his immortal Tiruppugazh hymns. Traditional belief: Removal of severe childlessness (Santhana Bhagyam), relief from financial distress, success in education and trade, and freedom from mental anxiety.
