The 48th Divya Desam of Vishnu; situated right in the historic heart of Madurai; celebrated for its extraordinary three-tiered vertical "Ashtanga Vimana" where Lord Vishnu is worshipped in all three cosmic postures (Sitting on ground floor, Standing on first floor, Reclining on top floor); where Periyalvar sang the foundational "Pallandu Pallandu" benedictory hymn after winning the philosophical debate in the Pandyan court. Traditional belief: Supreme spiritual beauty (Azhagu), resolution of complex family and financial problems, academic brilliance, and attainment of Vaikuntha liberation.
